Hanson announces they will brew their own brand of beer, ‘Mmmhop’

Hanson — the once pint-sized, tow-headed ‘Mmmbop’ crooners — have just announced they are launching their own brand of beer named after their famous single 14 years ago.
The Oklahoma boys — now 31, 28 and 26 — gave a talk at the Oxford Union debating society at Oxford University on Monday, where they revealed the plans of their soon-to-be brand of Indian pale ale called Mmmhop.
“We of course make records, they are fundamental to what we do, but we wanted to create a brand so that our fans have a greater experience,” said drummer Zac. “What is vital is that Hanson merchandise is quality and not made solely with the purpose of profit. We have a board game and even a record player to play our last record on, but we will never make dolls, lunch boxes or toothbrushes that play our songs, for example.”
He then continued, “It’s vital our fans trust in everything Hanson do. We are soon going to be selling our own beer. I’m not joking — Mmmhop IPA anyone?”
Though the band is not the first to produce their own alcohol. Artists such as AC/DC and Carlos Santana have created their own wines, and just last month British group Elbow came out with Build A Rocket Boys Beer named after their most recent album.
Hanson released their eighth studio album ‘Shout It Out’ in June 2010. Aside from now brewing their own beer, they will be heading out on the road for a Canadian tour late January and into February.
