Senior Katie Hoette, president of Sigma Chi Delta, said her sorority will be sponsoring their main event of the Fall semester, "Stop the Bop," the week of Nov. 7. The women of local social sorority Sigma Chi Delta will stand in front of the Student Union Building playing Hanson's song "MmmBop" for the majority of each day until Nov. 12. The ladies vow to stop playing the tune only when enough money has been raised. The proceeds will benefit the Northeast Missouri Community Action Agency, which funds low income families around the area, as well as local homeless people. This organization was chosen as Sigma Chi Delta's philanthropy by the sorority's founding mothers, Hoette said.
