The '90s were alive at MixFest (aka Why Backstreet Boys made my night)

It's no secret now that I'm a full-fledged Backstreet Boys fangirl.

Yes, I took all the pictures. Please excuse any blurriness as I was most likely shaking with excitement.

After (almost exactly) 11 years, I was able to see my childhood obsession live again. If that wasn't enough, Hanson — my very first musical fixation — was also performing.

I may have (read: really did, multiple times) screamed "I LOVE YOU!" occasionally.

Luckily, I was with good friends who shared my adoration and wasn't judged ... too much.

These are a few highlights from Sunday night at Pier Six Concert Pavilion:

Hanson:

••• I was calm up until I actually saw Isaac, Taylor and Zac take the stage. And then all was lost. I resorted back to my 11-year-old self and screamed "Oh my God, oh my God" over and over. True Story.

Taylor Hanson. No longer looks like a lady and went the hipster route. Good choice.

••• They sound incredible live. Probably better than on their albums. Also, Isaac knows how to rock out with the best of them.

Oh, Isaac. You're just so classy.

••• Naturally, they played their current single "Thinkin' 'bout Somethin'" and fan favorites "If Only" and "Mmm Bop." It's good to know I'm not the only person who still knows the words.

You know we love you, Zac. No need to egg us on.
