Hanson Re-Broadcast Successful Japan Aid Telethon Mmmbop.

Hanson are re-broadcasting their 12-hour online telethon for japan after the initial charity event raised $100,000 (gbp62,500) for the earthquake and tsunami relief effort.

The trio was joined by r.e.m. Star michael stipe, shock rocker andrew w.k. And the boxer rebellion, among others, for the telethon, which they organized during the south by southwest festival in texas last month (mar11).

The event was a big success and now brothers isaac, taylor and zac hanson are re-airing the eclectic show to raise more cash for the american red cross.

Taylor hanson tells spinner.com, "the stream was all about taking whatever action we could, and using the best tools available to us - music and our relationships with so many amazing artists at sxsw.

"We were blown away, not only by the artists who contributed, but by the amazing amount of love and support for our friends in need in japan, and the desire from so many to give their time and effort.

"There is still a lot to do but we are hopeful that the event will continue to spread the word, encouraging support and attention from music fans to do what they can, small or large."

The telethon will be re-broadcast on tuesday (05apr11).

The artists involved have also donated songs to the sxsw 4 japan compilation.
