Family Home of International Recording Artists HANSON(R) To Sell by Auction on November 10th

Property, Including Large Home and 120 Acres, to Sell Without Reserve

TULSA, Okla., Oct 18, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Williams & Williams(R), the premier brand in real estate auctions ( http://www.williamsauction.com/ ) will auction the long-time family home and recording studio of the award-winning band HANSON(R) on November 10, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. CST. The property, which features a large home designed by architect Jack Arnold situated on 120+/- acres, will be offered without reserve in 5 parcels. Interested buyers can bid on site or live from anywhere at Auction Network ( http://www.auctionnetwork.com/ ). The home will be open to the public for inspection from 1-4 p.m., Sundays Oct. 23, 30 and Nov 6.
The property location is 1544 N 240th Road (221st and S. Harvard). It has been a well-guarded secret since the world was introduced to three young brothers who made a meteoric rise to worldwide fame when their smash hit single MMMBop reached number one in 27 countries.
Now that the band has established a new location for their commercial studio and the Hanson children are grown with families of their own, the family made the decision to sell the property. "After extensive research we determined that the sophisticated marketing assets of Williams & Williams are highly strategic and outpace the traditional model," Walker Hanson said. "We believe the dynamic auction model will draw extra attention to the sale of our home and give us a stronger platform to highlight the unique qualities of the secluded property."
A notable feature of the home is the custom recording studio designed by highly acclaimed architect and acoustician Vincent Van Hoff. Built for HANSON's record label 3CG, the studio has served as a recording site for four of the band's worldwide-released hit albums. The home and studio have also been the site of annual songwriting retreats and collaborations with famous musicians. Among the many VIPs who have worked in the home are Ric Ocasek, Jason Mraz, "Weird" Al Yankovic and Andrew W.K.
The Hanson family remodeled the home to accommodate a growing family, adding a game room, great room and recording studio. Also selling at auction are two autographed guitars and personal property belonging to the Hanson family.
"As a Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company, we are especially proud to be selling this property on behalf of the Hanson family," said Amy Bates, Chief Marketing Officer of Williams & Williams. "We look forward to bringing an international audience to this auction for one of Tulsa's favorite hometown celebrity families."
A media kit including photographs can be downloaded at ftp://67.214.102.105/ and a media only event will take place on Sunday, October 23, 11:15 -- 12:45 p.m. CST.
