Fifteen years after “MMMBop” propelled them into the national spotlight, Hanson are back and ready to celebrate their past with their “Musical Ride Tour” this fall. The trio of brothers will play Boston’s House of Blues on Sunday, October 9. Tickets for the show are now on sale through Live Nation for $26.50.
On the upcoming tour, Hanson will ask fans to select one of the band’s five studio albums to played live its entirety at the given performance. The band will also throw in a set of other fan favorites and material off their latest release, 2010′s Shout It Out. The tour was inspired by the “5of5 concert series”, which featured each of Hanson’s albums performed in their entirety on five consecutive nights in New York City last year and London last month.
“Much like the 5of5 concert series both in New York and London which blew us away, this whole tour is about looking back in order to go forward”, explained Taylor Hanson in a press released.
Brother Zac added, “This tour is a unique way of saying thank you to the many fans that have followed the band for years, who will, for the first time, get a chance to help shape the show they see each night”.
Prior to the Boston show, Hanson will stop in Northampton for a show at the Calvin Theatre on Friday, October 7. Other New England stops include Toad’s Place in New Haven, Connecticut on October 9 and the State Theatre in Portland, Maine on October 11.
