MOUNDS - The home that fostered the musical minds behind the hits "MMMBop" and "Where's the Love?" will go up for sale next month and be auctioned to the highest bidder.

Tulsa-based auction company Williams & Williams will sell the childhood home of the brothers Hanson on Nov. 10.

The house, located in Okmulgee County at 1544 N. 240th Road in Mounds, has a custom recording studio, six bedrooms, five baths and includes a luxury pool and cabana house.

"I think the thing that's special for us in this house is the role it played in our music," said Zac Hanson, the youngest band member, during a video shot to showcase the house. "The place facilitated the ability to be creative."

The double-gated home was built in 1985 and also includes 120 acres of wooded and pasture property.

The three brothers in the band Hanson grew up in the Tulsa area and gained international recognition with their 1996 poppy tune "MMMBop."

The Hanson family purchased the house after their commercial success, but Isaac, Taylor and Zac have all since married, moved out and had children of their own.

The property's three-car garage was converted into the music studio, which also features a second-floor bedroom.

Since the band gained fame, the home has hosted annual music retreats with guests such as Jason Mraz and Weird Al Yankovic.

Hanson also wrote and recorded many songs off of the 2010 album "Shout it Out" at the home.

"We're not really sure how much it will sell for because it's such a unique property," said D.C. Roberts, senior director of sales for Williams & Williams.

An assessed value of the home was unavailable.

But the home isn't expected to go cheap. A bid deposit of $50,000 is required, and the 120 acres will be sold in five parts, including the 20-acre estate.

The auction company will hold public previews from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday and on Oct. 30, Nov. 6, and two hours before the auction.
