Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Jarrod Gorbel, formerly of The Honorary Title, is touring with Hanson starting on November 1, in Dallas at the House of Blues. This tour will run directly after his previous announced dates with Fun and Steel Train. Gorbel is releasing his first solo album "Devil's Made a New Friend" August 31 on independent label Burning-house Records and his own imprint, Gorbel Music. Blake Sennett (of Rilo Kiley and The Elected) produced the album, which features many collaborations and a band made up of members of Rilo Kiley, Black Crowes, Mystic Valley Band, and Azure Ray.
After several years performing under the moniker The Honorary Title (which eventually evolved into a full-fledged quartet praised by Spin and Rolling Stone) Devil's Made a New Friend is Gorbel's debut full-length release under his own name. The album already leading to a feature in Nylon will be streamed by Absolute Punk starting Wednesday, August 25.
Each song on the new album is accompanied by a live video shot in various locations throughout New York City and they have been released every week for the last nine weeks. The final installment is for the single "Ten Year Older," featuring Jaymay.
