USING the internet and their own record label, Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson have managed to extend their careers beyond the teen stardom that came with their 1997 multi-million-selling single Mmm Bop.
Well, sort of. The frantic piano, clever arrangements and Motown-lite brass suggest they’d love to be Ben Folds Five but in a blind test most would still recognise the breathy vocals and harmonised choruses of Hanson’s teenage sound.
There are some good songs on this fifth album even if nothing matches the sublime early single Weird, easily their finest moment.
